TUCSON, Ariz.- Arizona finished its fall season by putting together the best round to close the CordeValle Collegiate.
The Wildcats' 373 on day three gave them a total of 1140 (+60) strokes, ninth best in the event. USC, who led the tournament from day one, won by a margin of 26 strokes over second place Stanford.
The top six individual finishers were all from the Pac-10, lead by Washington's Nick Taylor and USC's Tim Slutier, who tied for first at four-under par 212.
Arizona was led by Tarquin MacManus and Jonathan Khan. Both were nine over (225) for the tournament and finished tied for 28th in event. This is the third event in a row that MacManus has had at least a share of the best score for the Wildcats.
Roberto Galleti, who shot a 70 in the second round to put him in a tie for 29th, shot a round of 80 to fall to 51st. Philip Bagdade moved up a spot to finish 55th in the tournament. Tyler Neal and Bradley Nicholson each were 21-over and finished tied for 69th.
The tournament, played at CordeValle Country Club in San Martin, Calif., a par 72, 7,169 yard course, required each team to play six golfers with the top five scores recorded each day.
UA's appearance in the CordeValle Classic was its final appearance of the fall season. The Cats will next be in action on Feb. 2-3, when it hosts the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate.
