Tempe, Ariz. ?C The University of Arizona womenˇ?s tennis team ended its four match road trip with a 7-0 loss to in-state rival Arizona State today in Tempe, Ariz.
Arizona has now dropped four consecutive matches and has an overall record of 7-10, while ASU is currently 11-3.
ASU captured the doubles point by winning court two and three. After the point was decided, court one featuring Danielle Steinberg and Claire Rietsch went into a tiebreaker but Arizona was downed 7-2 in the breaker.
Arizona State proved to be the superior team today as they did not lose so much as one set during all six singles matches.
The match was clinched?for ASU?when Nadia Abdala, who trailed 4-2 in the first set against Steinberg, proceeded to win the next 10 games and take the match 6-4, 6-0.
The Wildcats will be back at home next weekend as they will host Stanford and California. The matches will also be the first that factor into conference play for the respective teams.
