LaNelle Robson Tennis Center: This week's matches will be held on Arizona's home courts. LaNelle Robson Tennis Center was dedicated in 1991 and is home to 17 lit courts, a center-court grandstand and a permanent canopy over the stands.

Arizona Head Coach Tad Berkowitz enters his eighth season as the head coach of the Wildcats. During the 2008-09 season he was named the Pac-10 Men's Tennis Coach of the Year and the Wilson/ITA West Region Coach of the Year. He joined the program in 2004 and has held numerous national and collegiate coaching positions. He was promoted to the head coaching position in the spring of 2005 after serving as hall-of-famer Bill Wright's assistant. Berkowitz was a top collegiate player for the Universities of Kentucky and New Mexico, respectively.

Super Seven: Arizona returns seven players from the 2011-2012 season. Juniors Giacomo Miccini, Mario Urquidi, and Andre Vidaller return as the most experienced members of the team. Sophomores Carlos Bermudez, Robin Chou and Sumeet Shinde also return as key contributors.

Fresh Four: The Wildcats welcome four new players to the 2013 roster. Freshman Matt Dunn joined the team in the fall along with sophomore transfer Ben Lee. Joining the team at the start of the spring season are freshman Naoki Takeda and junior transfer Fredrik Ask.

The Rankings: After a split weekend in Louisville, Ky. Arizona fell nine spots in the rankings from No. 55 to No. 64. The Washington Huskies improved from No. 30 to No. 29 after a 7-0 win over Seattle U. After dropping a 4-1 decision to Rice, Oregon fell from No. 39 to No. 42

Last Time Out: The Wildcats split the weekend in Louisville, Ky. dropping a 6-1 decision to Louisville on Saturday and sweeping play against Morehead State on Sunday. On Saturday, the Cats dropped the doubles point, falling on courts one and two. In singles play, junior Kieren Thompson earned Arizona’s only point of the day with a win on court three. Against Morehead State, the Cats clinched all three doubles matches and all six singles matches to snap a three match losing streak.

Friday’s Match Data: The Wildcats (10-6, 0-0 Pac-12) will open Pac-12 play against the Washington Huskies (13-6, 0-0 Pac-12). The match will mark the first in conference play for both teams.

The Series vs. Washington: This will be the 27th meeting of the two schools with Washington holding the 16-10 advantage.

The Last Meeting: On April 15, 2012 the Cats fell 7-0 to the Huskies in Washington. Arizona fell on all three doubles court and all six singles courts, the match marked the first in conference play were the Cats were unable to secure a win.

Scouting the Huskies: On March 1 and 2, Washington hosted Seattle U in two matches. The Huskies earned all six singles matches on both days, there was no doubles play.

Sunday’s Match Data: The Wildcats (10-6, 0-0 Pac-12) will host the Oregon Ducks (13-2, 0-0 Pac-12), the match will mark the second in conference play for both schools.

The Series vs. Oregon: This will be the 19th meeting of the two schools with Arizona holding the 13-5 all-time advantage.

The Last Meeting: On April 13, 2012, the Cats fell, 6-1, to the Ducks in Eugene, Ore. The Wildcats fell on all three doubles courts and went on to win only one singles match. Earning Arizona’s only point of the day was Kieren Thompson who clinched a win on court five.

Scouting the Ducks: Last weekend, the Ducks fell 4-1 to Rice in Houston, Texas. Oregon clinched the doubles point with wins on courts one and two and fell on four singles courts before calling the match.
