Box Score

TUCSON--Arizona used a big sixth inning to break open a tight game and romp past Eastern Michigan, 9-0, in its own Hillenbrand Invitational softball tournament Saturday evening.

The Cats scored six times in the inning, batting around. Candace Abrams had a two-run single, Jennie Finch hit a sacrifice fly and pitcher Jenny Gladding socked a three-run homer.

UA jumped to a quick lead as the visiting team, with Leneah Manuma clouting a home run with two runners aboard in the top of the first.

Gladding scattered three hits and struck out nine. UA improved to 21-1. Eastern Michigan dropped to 3-9. Three of the Eagles' losses have been to Arizona -- once last week in the Worth Invitational tourney, on Wednesday and in Hillenbrand Invitational action.
