Grado Named Pac-12 Diver of the Month

TUCSON, Ariz. -

Senior Ben Grado (Conifer, Colo.) was named Pac-12 Diver of the Month for the month of February, Commissioner Larry Scott announced on Friday.

Grado became the first diver to sweep all three events at the Pac-12 Championships since Arizona State’s Micky Benedetti in 2008.

The Diver of the Meet, he was also the first Wildcat to capture a Conference title since his coach Omar Ojeda won six events from 2001 to 2002. Grado scored 405.20 on the 1-meter, 421.60 on the 3-meter and 387.50 on the platform.

This honor marks the third Diver of the Month for Grado and the fourth all-time for Arizona.

Currently, Grado is competing at the NCAA Zone E Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo.
