Throughout the Arizona Wildcat women's basketball season, freshman Candice Warthen will keep a weekly blog about life as a Pac-10 freshman. Check back for more updates from Candice!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your day so far. I am having a great day and I hope it continues. On Sunday, we took on our in-state rival Arizona State Sun Devils. This was an important game for us because we were on a four-game losing streak and we were in desperate need of WIN. We prepared for the game for a week and we pretty much knew what they were going to do. We just needed to execute our game plan. We came out of the locker room determined and focused. Everyone was on the same page and everyone had the same goal, BEAT ASU!! From start to finish, the game was neck and neck; it was a great game. Our senior forward Ify Ibekwe had a great game and that was very important for us to get her going. She had 22 points and 22 rebounds; she played great. Davellyn Whyte struggled in the first half but in second half, she came out beasty and no one could stop her.

We got the win at our house and now we are moving on to focus on the Washington schools. We play at Washington State on Thursday and at UW on Saturday. These game are very important because we want to keep this momentum going and every game counts in the Pac-10. We know now exactly what we need to do: execute the game plan, box out and rebound and play as a team for all 40 minutes.

Thanks for reading my blog! Go Cats!
