HONOLULU, Hawaii -- The No. 17 Arizona volleyball team remained undefeated with a 3-1 (31-29, 30-21, 25-30, 30-22) win over Eastern Washington Friday in the Wahine Classic. The Wildcats hit .233 on the match and three players -- junior Jennifer Abernathy and sophomores Stephanie Butkus and Meghan Cumpston -- had double-doubles on the match.
Cumpston had a match-high 17 kills to go along with 13 digs and four blocks, while Abernathy finished with 14 kills on .333 hitting, with 14 digs and three blocks. Butkus dished out 38 assists, while adding 14 digs, seven kills and four blocks. Junior Bre Ladd fininshed with 10 kills, five digs, three service aces and two blocks, while sophomore Kristina Baum notched a match-high six blocks as the Wildcats out-blocked the Eagles 14 to 6.5.
UP NEXT: Arizona faces San Diego at 2 p.m. (HST) Saturday, Sept. 4, in the tournament.
