Camp Objective

DAN TOBIAS SOCCER CAMPS are designed to teach basic to advanced soccer skills and tactics to players in developing the complete soccer player. The daily training sessions are both challenging and fun creating a perfect environment for individual development and a continued love of the game! 

June 6-9, 3:00-5:00 PM (Boys and Girls Ages 6-13)
June 6-9, 5:30-8:00 PM (Girls Ages 14-15)

June 13-16, 3:00-5:00 PM (Boys and Girls Ages 6-13)
June 13-16, 5:30-8:00 PM (Girls Ages 16-18)


Camp Description

All Sessions are held at Murphey Soccer Stadium

Ages 6-13
Sessions for this age group are open to both male and female soccer players.  The sessions will consist of training geared toward individual development of basic skills and fundamentals.  Topics to be covered include:


  • Ball skills
  • Passing and receiving
  • Dribbling
  • Finishing
  • 1 v 1 defending and attacking tactics

All sessions will be conducted over a two hour period with small to full-sided game at the end of every session. 

Ages 14-18
Sessions for this age group are open to female players only.  The trainings will focus on basic to advanced skills in all areas of soccer with an emphasis on the following:

  • Ball Skills
  • 1 v 1 and small group attacking and defending tactics
  • Full-sided matches and positional responsibilities
  • Soccer specific speed, agility and strength work

These training sessions have LIMITED SPACE and enrollment will be based on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Daily Schedule

Ages 6-13

3:00-3:30 PM     Warm-up and Skill Work
3:30-4:30 PM     Training Session
4:30-5:00 PM     Games

Ages 14-15 and 16-18

5:30-6:15 PM     Speed, Agility and Strength Work
6:15-6:30 PM     Skill Work
6:30-7:30 PM     Training Session
7:30-8:00 PM     Games


Special Features

All camp participants will receive a camp T-shirt and ball.  Players will also receive an individual evaluation at the conclusion of the camp.  All female players ages 14-18 will receive additional training for speed, agility and strength conditioning by professional strength & conditioning coaches.

Coaching Staff

The coaches at our camp are some of the finest and most experienced available, all of whom have a vast knowledge of the game and experience working with youth players.  Our coaches include staff and team members of the University of Arizona’s 2004 Pac-10 Women’s Soccer Championship team along with other college coaches, Olympic Development coaches, and former University of Arizona players.  All of our coaches are excellent teachers and role models for young soccer players.


Speed, Agility & Strength Work

All sessions for players ages 14-18 will include speed, agility and strength work that is specific to the demands of soccer players.  These sessions will be run by professional strength and conditioning coaches from the University of Arizona who work with elite college and professional athletes.



Payment is due in full at the time of registration.  All cancellations prior to the start date are subject to a $25 administration fee.

Field Location & Directions

Murphey Soccer Stadium is located on the corner of E. 15th St. & Plumer Ave, adjacent to the Drackman Track & Field complex.



Directions from I-10:

Take the Speedway exit off I-10 and go east. Follow Speedway for a few miles until you reach Campbell, then turn right. You will go through two lights and at the third (Broadway), turn left. At the very next light (Plumer Ave.), turn right. On Plumer, you will go through a dip, and once you've come up out of the dip, immediately take the first left (15th Street). The soccer stadium (and track complex) will be on your right.


Directions from the east side of Tucson:

Take Broadway west until you reach Tucson Blvd. Turn left onto Tucson Blvd. When you reach 15th Street, make a right, and the soccer complex will be on your left.


Directions from Campus:

Travel south on Campbell Ave. south to Broadway.  Turn left onto Broadway and right onto Plumer.  Turn left onto 15th.
