VAIL, Colo. - The University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Golfweek Conference Challenge, in Vail, Colo., on Tuesday.
The Cats finished second in the overall team standings and were just six shots off the winning Cavaliers from Virginia. Arizona saw four of its golfers finish in the top 30 and all five in the top 46. Brittany Altomare from Virginia was the individual champion at 212 (-4).
Senior Alejandra Llaneza was Arizona's top finisher in sixth place. On the final day of play, she shot a 74 (+2) for a three-round total of 218. Junior Margarita Ramos was right behind Llaneza in seventh place. She shot a 71 in the final round and a 219 (+3) over three days.
Finishing in a tie for 11th place, junior Isabelle Boineau carded her best round of the three days with a 73 on Tuesday and a compiled score of 221. Sophomore Sherlyn Popelka finished in a tie for 30th with her third-round score of 78 and a three-day total of 227. Junior Nikki Koller was Arizona's final finisher in a tie for 46th. In the third round, she notched a 77 and a three-round score of 231.
