PULLMAN, Wash. ?- The University of Arizona women’s soccer team was shutout by Washington State, 1-0, at Lower Soccer Field today. The Cougars scored early in the first half to take the lead and were able to hold on to get the victory in both team’s regular season finales.

Allison Scurich provided the only scoring in the game. Scurich found the back of the net in the eighth minute. Scurich headed the ball to the far post off a corner by Anna Miller to give the Cougars the early lead.

Sophomore Gianna DeSaverio led the Arizona attack with four shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Chelsea McIntyre had five saves while allowing the one goal. Offensively, both team’s attacks were nearly even with the Wildcats getting 11 shots, five on goal, and the Cougars notching 12 shots, six on goal.

Arizona finishes the season 8-10-2 overall and 1-6-2 in the Pac-10.
