“The second half we had in this game—we have to have that—that’s what we are looking for,” Arizona head coach Niya Butts said. “At the end of the day, we ended up with five players in double figures. We have to have that balanced attack. It was a team effort throughout.”

In the first half, Arizona struggled from the field, shooting only 8-of-24 for 33.3 percent and was 0-of-8 from behind the arc. The Mean Green shot 41.4 percent (12-of-29) from the field and 44.4 percent (4-of-9) from behind the arc and took the lead going into the locker rooms, 34-17. Poston led the Wildcats with eight points, including the first six of the game.

Arizona showed fight in the second half, chipping away at the lead and making several runs to narrow the score and take the lead with 2:39 remaining. The Wildcats finished the game on a 17-4 run and won, 71-66.

As a team, Arizona forced 23 turnovers in the game and only committed 17—four in the second half.

“This was all about battling back, this was all about toughness,” Butts said. “I think we showed that in the second half.”

The Wildcats will travel to Long Beach, Calif. for their fourth-consecutive road game to take on Long Beach State on Sunday, Dec. 2. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT.
