TUCSON – It’s Family Weekend on the campus of The University of Arizona and kickoff for the Arizona-Washington game is less than 24 hours away.
The game, which will be televised live by the Versus cable network, features a pair of Pac-10 foes that together accumulated over 1,000 yards in total offense a year ago in Seattle when the Wildcats rallied from 15 points down in the fourth quarter to win, 48-41.
Fans attending Saturday’s game can expect to see the intensity ramped up even more so than in Arizona’s first two home games in September as the Wildcats welcome their first Pac-10 foe to Tucson. The Wildcats (3-1, 1-0 Pac-10) are averaging over 42 points per game in 2008 and will face a hungry Washington squad (0-4, 0-1 Pac-10) seeking its first win of the season. But records are often thrown out the window in this series, which has seen the visiting team win each of the last four contests.
Tickets to Saturday’s game, which is set to kickoff at 4:30 p.m. local time, have been selling fast over the last several weeks. Arizona officials reported over 54,000 tickets sold in the 57,400 seat facility at the close of business on Friday, leaving just under 3,000 available for purchase by the public on game day.
Patrons may purchase tickets online here through 11 a.m. Saturday. Game-day sales begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Arizona Stadium Box Office underneath the southeast corner at North Cherry Avenue and East Sixth Street.
All fans attending the game are encouraged to “Bear Down With Pride” by showing good sportsmanship in Arizona Stadium. The Bear Down with Pride Sportsmanship Guidelines have been established to create and maintain a safe, comfortable, and family-friendly sports and entertainment experience at each Arizona Athletics venue.
