WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--The UA's 2006 football opener against Brigham Young and its season finale against Arizona State have been selected for national television in the final preseason picks by the Pacific-10 Conference partners. Both are Wildcat home games in Arizona Stadium

The BYU game will be shown on TBS Sports cable at 7:15 p.m. (MST/PDT) Saturday, Sept. 2. The Arizona State game moves to a Saturday for the first time since 1999, and will be shown nationally on Fox Sports Net. it also moves to a night kickoff, at 7:30 p.m. MST (6:30 p.m. PST).

The new 12-game schedule and the Pac-10 full round-robin, in which all league teams play all others every year, was part of the move for the ASU game, away from the Friday after Thanksgiving on which it had been played each of the past six years.

Along with the Sept. 23  USC game, to be shown in a split-national telecast by ABC, the UA enters the season with three games known for television. Pac-10 partners also will select games during the season on a 12- or 6-day basis, depending on matchups and what's happening in league play.

All five Pac-10 rivalry games were selected for broadcast. FSN will show four -- the Arizona-ASU game, Washington-WSU, Oregon-OSU and California-Stanford, while ABC will broadcast the UCLA-USC game.

UA officials also anticipate that Arizona's Sept. 9 game at Louisiana State could be televised by one of that Southeastern Conference affiliate's television partners.
