TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona womenˇ?s golfer Mary Jacobs climbed two spots up the leader board after the third round of play Thursday at the World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand.

Jacobs, a senior-to-be from Godfrey, Ill., shot a two-over-par 74 Thursday and stands in a tie for eighth place after 54 holes with a three-round total of 229 (+13). She is one of two U.S. players in the eventˇ?s top-10 places.

Jacobs and her U.S. teammates will tee off at 7:40 a.m. UTC for tomorrowˇ?s final round (14 hours ahead of PDT). The World University Games competition is being held at the Water Mill Golf & Gardens Course, a par-72 layout.

Ireland leads the womenˇ?s team competition with a three-day total of 447, and the countryˇ?s Danielle McVeigh holds a seven-shot lead among individuals (216). The U.S. women are in fourth place at 457.
