TUCSON - The Arizona Wildcats and the Oregon State Beavers will continue the Pac-10 portion of the 2010-11 season with a contest at McKale Center on Sun., Jan. 2. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT.

The Arizona Wildcats and the Oregon State Beavers will meet for the 55th time on Sunday. The Wildcats leads the series, 28-26. During the 2009-10 slate, Arizona won both meetings against the Beavers.

The Arizona Wildcats are 10-2 overall, 1-0 in the Pac-10 and 6-0 at home with the conference season underway. The Wildcats have three players averaging double-digit points in sophomore guard Davellyn Whyte (15.1), senior forward Ify Ibekwe (15.5) and senior forward Soana Lucet (13.4). Ibekwe leads Arizona at the glass with 10.4 rebounds per game and junior guard Shanita Arnold dishes out a Pac-10 leading 6.2 assists per game. Currently, Wildcat players lead the Pac-10 in rebounds (Ibekwe, 114, 10.4 pg), assists (Arnold, 74, 6.1 pg), field goal percentage (freshman forward Erica Barnes, 48-82, .585) and defensive rebounds (Ibekwe, 78, 7.1 pg).

The Oregon State Beavers are 7-5 overall, 0-1 in Pac-10 play and 2-3 on the road to start the season. They have picked up wins on the home courts of UNLV and Weber State. Alyssa Martin leads the Beavers with 15.6 points per game. Sage Indendi chips in with 10.8 points per game and El Sara Greer leads at the glass with 8.4 boards per game.

The Wildcats moved to 10-2 overall and 1-0 in conference action with a 109-94 win over the Oregon Ducks on Friday. Arnold led all scorers with a career-best total of 25 points. She was 11-of-13 from the field and 3-of-5 from the charity stripe. She also pitched in with seven assists and four steals. Arnold was one of six Wildcats scoring in double figures including Ibekwe (19), junior guard Brooke Jackson (14), Barnes (13), Lucet (12) and Whyte (11).

Arizona is four games into a five-game homestand which will conclude with the Oregon State Beavers on Jan. 2. The homestand started with a win over New Mexico State on Dec. 19, a win over North Texas on Dec. 21, a win over Iona on Dec. 28 and a win over Oregon on Dec. 31.

All Wildcat games can be heard live on KTUC AM 1400. All broadcasts will start 15 minutes prior to tip-off for the pre-game show. Entering their third season calling Arizona Wildcat women's basketball games will be Derrick Palmer (play-by-play) and Alysiah Bond (color).
