TUCSON - University of Arizona senior punter Kyle Dugandzic and sophomore running back Ka'Deem Carey were named College Football Performance Awards Honorable Mention Players of the Week, it was announced on Sunday.
In Saturday's 38-35 loss to then-No. 18 Oregon State, Carey racked up 115 yards on the ground and 68 yards in the air. He had two rushing touchdowns while averaging 6.8 yards per carry and a long catch of 47 yards. Saturday's game marked Carey's third of the season collecting over 100 rushing yards.
Dugandzic recorded five punts for a total of 234 yards with a long of 70. He averaged 46.8 yards per punt and landed four inside the 20-yard line. He also served as the holder on all five of kicker John Bonano's made PATs.
His long of 70 came at a crucial moment in the game with OSU leading UA late in the third quarter and pinned the Beavers on their own five-yard line. On the next drive, Oregon State gave up a fumble that was recovered by an Arizona defender.
Arizona football will travel to take on No. 18 Stanford on Sat., Oct. 6 at Stanford Stadium. The game is scheduled to air on Fox at 12 p.m. PT.
