TUCSON, Ariz. - Spring Football Notes...

... The University of Arizona football team returned to the gridiron Tuesday afternoon for its 10th spring practice session... Head coach John Mackovic and the Arizona assistant coaches put the Wildcats through a rigorous, fast-paced practice, as the players worked out in full pads for over two hours... The players concluded the session with tempo running and conditioning...

... In the team's first practice after the Spring Game, Mackovic was pleased with Tuesday's session. "We had a really good practice today. Coming off of the scrimmage, we were a little sluggish early on, but the assistant coaches did a good job of getting the players focused," he said...

... The Wildcats did some situational work with full lines for the majority of today's practice. "We did some scrimmage work with the full team for the last half of practice. We also focused on scoring zone and goal-line scrimmage work. We had some good, hard play today," Mackovic said...

... Mackovic also had some praise for quarterbacks Nic Costa and Ryan O'Hara following Tuesday's practice. "After looking at the film from Saturday's Spring Game, both Nic and Ryan did a lot of good things. Nic started real fast, and Ryan ended well. They both looked very good today in practice. We are working on a whole new set of things at this point in the spring, so it is really important that the quarterbacks are able to move to the plays and concepts more quickly than before," he said...

... Arizona has five practices remaining on the spring football schedule... The Wildcats are scheduled to practice in Arizona Stadium for the next two sessions this week... The team will work out on Thursday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m., and the Wildcats will hold their final scrimmage on Friday, April 18, at 3:30 p.m. "We won't go as heavy on Thursday, and Friday will be our last full scrimmage of the spring. We probably will go about 80 plays during the scrimmage, much like we did last Saturday," Mackovic added...

... UA is allowed 15 spring practices under NCAA guidelines and will conclude sessions with the team's final practice on Thursday, April 24.
