TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Arizona baseball program will host its annual Alumni Weekend February 6-7. Included in the weekend of festivities will be a chance for Wildcat fans to come out and get an early glimpse of the 2009 Arizona baseball team while getting autographs from some of UA’s most notable alumni who will be in town this weekend.
The Alumni Weekend will kickoff with an alumni golf outing on Friday, before a full slate of events are held on Saturday. The 2009 Arizona baseball team will hold an intra-squad scrimmage at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning at Jerry Kindall Field at Frank Sancet Stadium. At 11:30 a.m., there will be a luncheon for the UA alumni in the left field plaza, where former Wildcats will sign autographs for fans.
Among those expected to attend are former or current major league players Lance Dickson, Gil Heredia, Jack Howell, Nick Hundley, Dan Schneider and Ron Theobald. In addition, 2008 First Round draft picks Ryan Perry and Daniel Schlereth, along with former teammate Mike Colla, will be in attendance.
The alumni will conclude a weekend of festivities with a private dinner on Saturday night, which will include Arizona athletics director Jim Livengood and head coach Andy Lopez.
