<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">WALNUT CREEK</B></st1:City><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">, <st1:State w:st="on">Calif.</st1:State> ? </B>The <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Arizona</st1:place></st1:State> softball team has been selected by the Pac-10 coaches as the Conference&rsquo;s top team entering 2007.</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">The Wildcats, which edged rival UCLA by two points for the top spot in the poll, look to be the third consecutive team to win the Conference crown on the field after being selected on the coaches&rsquo; ballots.</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">In 2005 and 2006 respectively, coaches correctly predicted Cal and UCLA would win the Pac-10.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Two years ago, <st1:State w:st="on">Cal</st1:State>&rsquo;s conference title was shared by three other teams, including <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Arizona</st1:State></st1:place>.</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">In years following national championships, <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Arizona</st1:place></st1:State> has won five of six Pac-10 titles.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>The only year UA failed to defend its national championship by winning the Conference was 2002.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Additionally, UA has reached the national title game in each year following a national championship.</P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o:p> </o:p></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none">Results of the poll are as follows.
