2003-04 Season: First team All-American in the 100 breast... Finished seventh in the 100m breast (1:00.28) at the NCAA Championships... Was fifth in the 100y breast at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships (54.22)... Placed fifth in the 100y breast, eighth in the 200y breast, and swam the second leg of the 400y medley relay that placed third against Arizona State...Finished fourth in the 100y breast (57.98) and fifth in the 200y breast (2:06.32) against Texas...Placed sixth in both the 100 and 200y breast against Stanford...Finished fourth in the 200 breast and the 200 IM against Cal. 2002-03 Season: At 2003 Pac-10 Championships, finished fifth in the 100 breast (55.24), ninth in the 200 breast (2:01.03) and 19th in the 200 IM (1:52.52)... During dual meet action, won the 100 breast and was fifth in the 200 breast against Arizona State... At the Texas Invitational, finished fifth in the 200 breast and was 21st in the 100 breast... Recipient of the Mary Roby Academic Achievement Award.2001-02 Season: At 2002 Pac-10 Championships, placed eighth in the 200 breast (2:00.86) and 10th in the 100 breast (56.14)... His 56.14 in the 100 breast at Pac-10s was the UA’s second-best time of the season in that event.
National & International Competition ?- 2001: Placed third in the 200 breast at the Northeast Sectionals... Also at the Northeast Sectionals, placed fourth in the 200 fly and sixth in the 200 IM. 2000: Took first place at the Summer Juniors in the 200m breast.Prep: Graduated from Portland (Maine) High School, where he earned one letter each in swimming, soccer and tennis... Finalist for Maine Swimmer of the Year in 1998... Set school records in the 100 fly, 100 breast, 200 IM, 200 free and 500 free... Received the Portland Kiwanis Distinguished Youth Award... A USA Swimming Scholastic All-American... Also competed for the Portland (Maine) Porpoise Swim Club team.
Personal: Born Nathaniel Shaw Stevens on June 14, 1982, in Portland, Maine... Majoring in regional development... His brother, John Stevens, was also a swimmer at the UA from 1998-2002.
