Former UA star pass rusher Tedy Bruschi, a three-time NFL Champion in Super Bowls for the New England Patriots, will sit out his 10th professional season while continuing recovery from a mild stroke suffered in mid February.

Bruschi played at Arizona from 1992 to 1995, topping his role during the "Desert Swarm" defense years with 52 career sacks to tie for the NCAA career lead. He was a collegiate defensive end who went on to play several linebacker spots for the Patriots and has played 120 games in the NFL, starting 72.
