Throughout the Arizona Wildcat women's basketball season, freshman Candice Warthen will keep a weekly blog about life as a Pac-10 freshman. Check back for more updates from Candice!

Hello Wildcat Fans!

This past weekend was an exciting road trip for the Arizona women's basketball team. We went to Pullman and Seattle to take on the Washington State Cougars and the Washington Huskies. Just like every game in the Pac- 10, these games were important because we just had just came off of a home win against our in-state rival Arizona State and this was a great opportunity for us to get our winning streak back. We knew that these were two teams that we were capable of beating; we just needed to be focused and play Arizona basketball for 40 minutes.

First we played Washington State and we had lots of energy and focus the entire game. We played team basketball although everything didn't go our way, we still stayed focused and fought through fatigue. As a result we got a big team win on the road.

After the WSU game, we traveled to Seattle. This game was no different from the last one. We handled our business in their house on their senior night. The fact that it was their senior night didn't mean anything to us, if anything it made us want the victory even more. For some reason, this game was very exciting to us. Anytime that your bench and starters are playing well it's fun to watch. Tasha Dickey and guard Brooke Jackson did a great job off the bench and they brought us a lot of energy. I love playing with them because they work hard and they provide positive energy off the bench.

It was great getting two road wins in a row; it was the first time that we've done this since the 2004-05 season. It felt great on the bus and after the game to go home with two wins under our belt.

We will continue this momentum on Thursday (7 p.m. MT start) when we take on the No. 11 UCLA Bruins and on Saturday when we play the USC Trojans (4 p.m. MT start) on Senior Night. Like we always say, every game is important and it starts Thursday for us. UCLA is a team we match up well with and last time out at their place, we ended the game really playing well. We need to remember to play all 40 minutes for both games this weekend.

Thanks for reading my blog! Go Cats!
