On the loss to UCLA:
"It was a tough game to lose, but I was really impressed with our coaches last night. They were talking to the players in the locker room, and that is really important because it is a matter of being around each other and staying together."
On redshirt freshman quarterback Nic Costa:
"The 92-yard touchdown pass is an indication that Nic can do it, and that is a real positive for our team. He showed that he can escape, run and make some of those plays. We wanted to play Nic more in the third quarter, but UCLA had the ball for the last five to six minutes of the quarter, and we didn't have the ball very much. We are going to beef up his repetitions this week and make sure that he gets more practice time. Whether he will play more at California depends on how we progress in practice this week."
