TUCSON - University of Arizona Wildcat men's tennis wrapped up play at the Baylor-HEB Invitational, in Waco, Texas, on Saturday. The tournament consists of a 64-player singles bracket and a 32-team doubles draw. All of this weekend's matches were played at Baylor's Hurd Tennis Center. Sophomore Andre Vidaller ended the weekend with three singles wins and, with partner Mario Urquidi, two doubles wins.
"All in all, I felt this was a productive trip for us," head coach Tad Berkowitz said. "We are improving in certain areas and we will continue to work hard as the fall progresses."
In the consolation singles bracket, Vidaller edged Kolby Kilgo of UT-San Antonio, 7-5, 7-5. He then pulled out of his match against Sam Garforth-Bles of Rice for precautionary reasons. In doubles play, Vidaller and Urquidi fell to third-seeded Costin Paval and Dane Webb of Oklahoma, 8-3.
Arizona will play next at the ITA All-American Championships, Oct. 1-9, in Tulsa, Okla.
