SEATTLE - No. 17 Arizona Softball was leading fourth-ranked Washington 5-3 in the top of the sixth inning when rain was deemed too powerful to continue. The game went into a rain delay at 8:10 p.m. and the game was suspended at 9:11 p.m. after a 61 minute rain delay.

The game will resume tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. PDT and be followed by game three of the series.

The contest will pick up in the top of sixth inning with Lini Koria batting for Arizona with a 1-1 count, no one on, no one out and the score 5-3 in favor of Arizona.

Rain has already canceled six of Arizona's game on the season and will now alter a seventh.

After stranding 14 runners on base in Thursday's contest, Washington scored a run on just one hit in the first. A walk and a single put two on with two out. A grounder up the middle would be gloved by Shelby Pendley, but as she unsuccessfully attempted to get the force at second, Niki Williams came around third to score.

Arizona followed its poor defensive effort in the first with an error to start the second. The Cats, though, would eliminate the error by catching pinch-runner Whitney Jones stealing sandwiched between a Fowler strikeout and a Marki Creger-Zier groundout.

The Wildcats' first hit of the game came in the fourth when Pendley knocked a one-out single to center. She would be erased by a 6-4-3 double play that ended the frame.

Its second hit of the game landed past the right field fence as Lini Koria led off the fifth with a home run. Karissa Buchanan nabbed a one-hit base hit and stole second to get herself in scoring position with one out for the top of the lineup. Hallie Wilson struck out and Chelsea Suitos reached on a bunt single. With runners on the corners and two out, Brigette Del Ponte grounded softly to Inglesby. The pitcher lost the handle of the ball and then threw it away allowing two runs to score. Jessica Spigner singled and Shelby Pendley hit a double to score pinch-runner Sam Davis. The relay in was mishandled by Kylee Lahners which allowed the fifth run of the inning.

Two walks and a single loaded the bases with only one out for Washington in the fifth. Fowler walked in a run to make the score 5-2. An RBI groundout by Shawna Wright scored another Husky run to make the score 5-3 Arizona after five.

Two pitches into the sixth inning, the game went into a delay.
