Baseball Announces 2002 Schedule

TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona baseball program, under the direction of new head coach Andy Lopez, announced its 2002 regular season schedule today. The Wildcats will play 56 games, including the annual All-Pro Alumni game and an exhibition game against the Colorado Rockies, beginning in January of 2002.

The schedule features 35 games that will be played at Sancet Field on the campus of the University of Arizona. Among the teams that will travel to Tucson are College World Series runner-up Stanford, San Diego State, UCLA and rival Arizona State. The exhibition game against the Rockies will be played at historic Hi-Corbett Field.

The Cats will travel to Texas to play Texas A&M in College Station in late February and to Long Beach, Calif., in early March to take on Long Beach State. Arizona will also travel to Los Angeles, Seattle, Berkeley and Corvallis for Pac-10 Conference games.
