The Arizona women's tennis match against Arizona State was rained out today, during the singles matches. The unfinished matches will not be resumed as Arizona looks ahead in their schedule for their first road trip to Texas to take on Texas Tech and Rice University.

Before weather forced the ending of the match, the Cats won the doubles point, two matches to one with freshman Natasha Marks and junior Claire Rietsch defeating Kelcy McKenna and Micaela Hein 8-6. Senior Danielle Steinberg and partner, freshman Sarah Landsman defeated Nadia and Laila Abdala 8-4 in the No. 2 spot. In the No. 3 spot, junior Ariane Masschelein and sophomore Jane Huh fell to Siana Simmons and Ashlee Brown, 8-1.

"I thought we matched up really well in doubles today," said head coach Vicky Maes, "And I felt that we would have done well in singles, had the weather not interfered. We just have to move on and look forward to the two big matches we have next weekend."

Up next, the Wildcats travel to Lubbock Texas. On Friday, February 13, they will take on Texas Tech at 2 p.m. CT, and on Saturday, February 14, they will be up against Rice University at 10 a.m. CT.
