With day two in Northridge, Calif. completed the Cats have a lot to smile about as all four players advance to the finals.
The junior team of Natasha Marks and Sarah Landsman will play the Flight A Doubles finals Sunday at 9 a.m. after an 8-2 win over Jaworowski and Sirojiddinova on Saturday. Susan Mc Rann and Lacey Smyth lost their doubles match 8-2 to the CSUN team of Doane and Man-Son-Hing, but will play a consolation match Sunday morning at 9.
Marks lost to Issara from Pepperdine University, 0-6 6-1 6-2. Landsman won her first match against Bisharat from Loyola Marymount University,6-4 6-1 but lost her second against Doane from Cal State Northridge, 6-4 6-4. Smyth won both of her singles matches the first 6-4 1-6 6-2 against Bhargava from Pepperdine University and the second against Issara also from Pepperdine 6-4 6-3. Mc Rann also won both of her matches the first 6-2 6-0 against Sandford from Cal State Fullerton and the second against Bran from the University of Montana 6-1 7-5. Both Mc Rann and Smyth will compete in the singles finals Sunday at 10 a.m.
"It's awesome to see all four girls make it to the finals, I have never had that happen before" said assistant coach Ryan Stotland. "It has been a great tournament and I am really seeing improvement in the girls' games."
