Russ Pennell- Arizona Head Coach

Overall thoughts on the game

"I was proud of how we came out and played. We should a lot of heart and I think that that describes this team best. We beat a very athletic and very underrated Stanford team."

"This team met all expectations. We know we have little room for error. We will continue to prepare for games and hopefully continue to win."

On David Bagga's three-pointer

"It was very fitting for it to end like that. It was a story book ending for David. David is glad to be a Wildcat and he accepts his role 100 %."

On playing ASU in the Pac-10 Tournament

"Our mind set is we have to beat them. They are a very good team. James Harden is not only one of the best players in our conference. He is one of the best players in the country."

"In order for us to beat them, we have to shoot the ball well and defend the arc. We need to push tempo. We have been close a couple of times. Now we need to close the deal."

His acceptance here at Arizona

"People have been very good and kind to me. I think they felt sorry for me at the beginning because if the difficult position I was put in. I never looked at this as a bad thing."

"My goal from the very beginning was to create an environment that the players loved to play in and the fans loved to watch. I am very thankful."

"I know this will probably be the last time I coach in McKale. I just keep looking forward to the next game. That's what coaches do. When it's all over, I'll probably reflect, but I won't want to because that means it's all over. The journey has been good. It's not about me riding off into the sunset."

Arizona Player Quotes

Fendi Onobun

What you will take out of the four years at Arizona:

"Just always keep fighting, to always persevere. Things didn't always go my way, I could have left, I could have transferred, but I stuck with it. It was a rough road sometimes, but there were so many positives. The four years went by so fast. I have made so many great friends here, so many contacts, and I'm getting my degree. I'm sad that my time here at McKale is over. But the main thing I learned is perseverance. If you have faith, you can get through anything."

On performance tonight perhaps leading to future playing time:

"We'll see. I'm ready any time he calls my number, whether it's 20 seconds or 20 minutes, and he knows that so we'll see."

On NCAA Tournament implications:

"One game at a time. We have another opportunity, another bullet. It's a big game for us, but it's the only one we're looking at."

David Bagga

On his three pointer:

"I thought I was going to miss, so I yelled `short'. I'm just glad we won. We prepared hard yesterday. Thursday was hard, and it was very important to get a win today."

What you will take out of the four years at Arizona:

"If you have something you want, just believe in yourself and you can accomplish it. Don't ever let anybody tell you can't do something. Like Fendi said, it went by so fast, but I made some great friends here at the U of A."

Chase Budinger

On the "big 3" playing well:

"All three of us played well tonight. We knew we had to step up for the team. Nic played tremendously. He led us out there. Jordan was a beast down low. He didn't get some calls down there, but he kept battling and played great. When the three of us play that well, it's hard to beat us. This gives us confidence heading into the conference tournament. It looks like we're going to play ASU. We have to come out and play like we did tonight, play hard and with a lot of intensity. This will be a great opportunity for redemption. In both games we were in the game at the end. We had chances to win both, so we're still pretty confident. ASU is a great team and they're coming off a big win against Cal. We're two teams that are playing well. This will be fun."
