FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -
Senior diver Ben Grado (Conifer, Colo.) swept the men’s diving events at the Pac-12 Championships, becoming the first diver to win all three boards since 2008.
“My experience here has been great, especially in my senior year,” Grado said. “It feels great to know that all the hard work I’ve been putting into this season is showing.”
In addition, senior Andres Guerra (Sugarland, Texas) earned runner-up honors on the platform in the final board on Saturday.
“Today is a great day to be a Wildcat,” Arizona diving coach Omar Ojeda said. “It is really great for Ben that he won his third title today. It is extra special because this is his senior year and he continues to get better.”
Grado scored a 387.50 on the platform, while Guerra was right behind him at 317.85.
Although the male divers are competing at the Women’s Pac-12 Championships, all scores will count towards the Men’s Pac-12 Championships, taking place in Los Angeles beginning Wednesday, Feb. 29.
