Polk, Wheeler Named to All-Region Team

ATLANTA, Ga. - Arizona junior center Shawntinice Polk and senior guard Dee-Dee Wheeler have been named finalists for the 2005 NCAA Division I Kodak/Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America Basketball Team. The duo are two of 48 finalists for the 10-member team. This is the third such honor for Polk and the first for Wheeler.

 

Joining Polk and Wheeler from Region 8, which includes member schools from the Pac-10, Big West and West Coast Conferences, are Nikki Blue of UCLA, Cathrine Kraayeveld of Oregon, Kristen Mann of UC Santa Barbara and Candice Wiggins of Stanford.

 

The Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team will be announced on April 2 at a press conference at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis, Ind.

 

WBCA member coaches of the Kodak/WBCA All-America Selection Committee in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions select the Kodak/WBCA All-America Team. The NCAA Division I Kodak/WBCA All-America Finalists are listed below by region:
