TULSA, Okla. - University of Arizona junior Danielle Steinberg will take on Georgia Techs Kristi Miller today in the NCAA singles draw at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa.
For Steinberg, ranked No. 31 overall, this will be her third year competing at the NCAA Championships. Last year she lost to Floridas Csilla Borsanyi in the first round. As a freshman, she was downed by TCU's Helena Besovic.
Her opponent this year, Miller, is ranked No. 10 in the ITA collegiate poll and is Georgia Techs top player. If Steinberg advances, she will face the winner of Californias Claire Ilcinkas and Floridas Borsanyi.
Singles play will start today and go through Sunday. The Pac-10 will be represented well, sending 17 participantsthe most from any one conference. On Tuesday, UCLA took home the team championship for womens tennis.
