COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Arizona volleyball players Cursty Jackson and Madison Kingdon have each been chosen to play on USA Volleyball's women's A2 team this summer.

The roster, comprised of the 36 top collegiate players in the country, will train in Dallas from May 23 through June 1. The program includes training and competition in the 2011 USA Volleyball Open National Championships in the Open Division from May 28-31. USA Volleyball considers the event as the National Championship for the sport of volleyball in the United States.

Jackson, one of Arizona's top returners for the 2011 season, was an All-Pac-10 honorable mention blocker in her junior season for the Wildcats.  The team's leading blocker with 28 solo rejections and 107 block assists, Jackson also hit for .351 while accruing 299 total kills for Arizona in 2010 as the team secured its second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

Kingdon, an early enrollee for Arizona after graduating from Sunnyslope HS in the fall semester, looks to be a top target in the Wildcat offense next season. The Phoenix native was the named as the Arizona Republic's high school player of the year after tallying 587 kills and 385 digs in her senior season.  Additionally, Kingdon is also eligible for the U.S. Women's Junior National Team, which will be announced in early May.

Athletes selected to the U.S. Women's National A2 Program were selected from the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts held Feb. 25-27 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. A record 204 athletes participated in the three-day tryouts, representing 81 different college programs.

Last season, departed seniors Whitney Dosty and Paige Weber represented Arizona on the A2 National team.
