TUCSON, ARIZ. - The GymCats experienced their own version of America's Next Top Model in their annual pre-season photo shoot this past Tuesday, October 19th.
The photo shoot is a unique event just to the gymnastics team, and has going on for about twenty years.
"We've been doing photo shoots ever since I can remember. Usually we will go off site and get pictures taken at places in the foothills, or in Old Tucson studios," Head Coach Bill Ryden commented, "This year we wanted to try something a little different."
This season's shoot was indeed different, and was much larger than past years with over 900 photos taken over a period of over four hours.
The main factor that seperates the GymCats' photo shoot different than other sports is the wide variety of photos that were taken. The girls were not only photographed for the poster, but also had shots taken of individual poses, flight photos (taken on the different events), as well as plain clothes photos. The team photos as well as the individual poses were taken in two different competition leotards.
These photos will be used in a variety of different outlets, including the media online magazine as well as game day programs.
