Wildcats Named to Pac-10 All-Academic Women's Swimming and Diving Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. ?- Several Wildcat swimmers were named to the 2006 Pac-10 Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic team announced by Commissioner Tom Hansen.

 

            Junior Whitney Myers was named to the All-Academic first team with a grade point average of 3.82. The award tallies Myers’ fourth individual honor this year, as she was also named the 2006 Pac-10 Women’s Swimmer of the Year, was a finalist for the 2005-2006 Swimming and Diving Honda Sports Award and was recently named to the Academic All-America At-Large Team.

 

            Sophomore Lacey Nymeyer was named to the second team after her outstanding performances in the classroom and in the pool. The Tucson native has a cumulative GPA of 3.67, majoring in pre-physical education. She also swam in all three of the national champion relays and contributed to five new school records.

 

            Wildcats that earned honorable mention recognition include seniors Jenna Gresdal and Marshi Smith, along with junior diver Megan MacDonald.
