TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Arizona cornerback Antoine Cason has been named second-team preseason All-America by Rivals.com, the website announced on Thursday.

Cason, a two-year letterwinner and one of the leaders for what should be a very stout defense in 2006, has started all 22 games in his Arizona career. The junior-to-be is coming off a 2005 season that saw him record 50 tackles, including 38 solo stops, break up five passes and pick off three others. His efforts last season earned him second-team All-Pac-10 honors by the league coaches.

Cason, along with sophomore wide receiver Mike Thomas, were also named honorable mention preseason All-America by Street and Smith’s magazine, while Cason and kicker Nick Folk were feted with all-Pac-10 honors by the publication.

The Wildcats are currently going through voluntary summer workouts in Tucson in preparation for fall camp in August.
