TUCSON, Ariz. ?- The second-seeded Arizona softball team had four players named to the All-Pacific-10 and All-Pacific Region teams on Wednesday.  Juniors Caitlin Lowe and Kristie Fox earned first team honors on both lists, while senior Alicia Hollowell was named first team All-Pac-10 and second team All-Pacific Region and senior Autumn Champion earned second team nods for both the conference and region.

This is Fox’s second year as an All-Pac-10 first team and All-Pacific Region selection.  The San Diego, Calif., native has started all 53 games at shortstop for the Wildcats this season and boasts a .400 batting average to go along with her team-leading 12 home runs and 49 RBI.  Fox was also selected as the at-large player on the All-America First Team in 2005.

For Lowe, she is honored for the third time in as many years with a first-team selection on both the all-conference and all-region squads.  A two-time first team All-American, Lowe is a USA Softball Player of the Year finalist for the second consecutive year.  The center fielder from Tustin, Calif., had started 147 consecutive games as the leadoff hitter for UA in the last three years before going down with an injury for 10 contests.  She finished the regular season as the Pac-10’s leader in batting average with a .441 clip.

Like her teammate Lowe, Hollowell earned first team citations in the Pac-10 and Pacific Region in every year of her career.  Hollowell will try to join just a handful of Wildcats to be named an All-American all four years.  With sophomore pitcher Taryne Mowatt splitting time in the circle this year, a fresh Hollowell should be primed to improve on her already gaudy numbers (23-4, 0.87 ERA) in the postseason.

Champion makes an appearance on the All-Pac-10 and All-Pacific Region teams for the fourth time in her career.  A first-team honoree on both teams in 2003 and 2004, Champion has been named to the squads as a second-teamer in 2005 and 2006.

Sophomores Callista Balko and Mowatt earned honorable mentions for the All-Pac-10 team.
