Head Coach Sean Miller Quotes

"It was a great win. When you're in conference play, every game is hard. Watching how they played recently against Cal and ASU, you got the sense that Stanford was a team that was hitting their stride. They have a lot of young players that are growing up before our eyes and not only are they a good team this year, but they're going to be a very good team in the future."

"The 11-point lead at halftime kind of won us the game. It was a hard fought 11 point lead."

"I thought Jamelle Horne was the story of the game. It's his senior year and you want him to have his best year at Arizona. I think he's played extremely well over the past few games. He was 4-for-4 from three, but it wasn't just that he hit four threes, it was the timing of those threes. Jamelle also helped out a lot on the glass. We outscored Stanford 18-4 on second chance points, and he had a lot to do with that."

On a break until Saturday when Arizona plays ASU:
"We're going to lift weights and watch film tomorrow, but beside that we won't have practice. We'll practice Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and that's all this week. We can kind of sense that the players are beginning to break down, so this break will be very good for us as a team."

"Thank you to all the fans that came out today, a day late. In a way, I hope this sort of served as a way to heal as we all cope with yesterday's tragic events."

Arizona Player Quotes

Forward #42 Jamelle Horne

General thoughts on the game today
"I think this is the game we've been waiting for as a team. Our shots were falling and we did a good job of crashing the boards on both ends of the floor."

On recent strong play
"I'd being lying if I said I didn't want to start, but I'm just getting more comfortable coming off the bench and providing that spark. Most notably, I think my rebounding has really improved. Coach Miller tells us everyday in practice that we must improve our offensive rebounding and I think it's starting to pay off."

On what this weekend meant
"I think these past two games showed how much work we have ahead of us. I enjoyed our fight and demeanor over the weekend. I thought we showed great focus."

Guard # 21 Kyle Fogg

On team defense and rebounding
"We were able to check them on the glass and control the loose balls. Last year that is something we were unable to do in a lot of games. In terms of our defense, it was really a team effort. Stanford's Jeremy Green is a great player and I had a lot of help on the defensive end against him."

Forward #44 Solomon Hill

On the postponement of the game
"We just wanted to come together and help the city out through our play this afternoon. Our focus was that we were playing for the city in this tough time. I thought we did a good job of keeping our focus and used the extra time well."

On the Stanford defense
"They attempted to play zone against us but I don't believe that it was necessarily their strong suit. We feel confident now as a team in whatever type of defense an opponent attempts to play against us."
