Recap| Box Score

Coach Olson

"We moved the ball the best that we have moved it all year long. We did a great job of taking care of the ball up until the last three minutes where we got a little sloppy. The only problem we had was that we didn't get out on some of their three-point shooters a few times. We gave up too many boards, but they are awfully tough on the offensive boards."

"Luke (Walton) had a great performance, and it was a great performance for our team. There is no question that Luke will find people and get open and get the basketball to someone. Jason (Gardner) had a really solid game. He took care of the ball, and he put great pressure on their players."

"It was great the way we came out. The crowd definitely was a huge factor. Once Will (Bynum) hit a three-pointer, the crowd went nuts, and he gained more confidence. We also did a good job of showing that there is still a sense of urgency in McKale."

"We did a good job of getting the ball inside. We had some good passes, and everybody looked for their teammates. We just moved the ball really well. Channing (Frye) did a good job getting to the ball, and Dennis (Latimore) did a good job inside in the first half."

Arizona Player Quotes

Junior Jason Gardner:
"Luke is a great player, a great player to play with. He sees the floor very well. Tonight was his night. The last couple of minutes we were trying to get the ball to him."

"This game builds a lot of confidence for us. It shows what type of team we can be. The guys now expect to come out like that every night."

On USC's poor first-half shooting:
"It was a combination of both (our defense and USC's inability to shoot well)."

Junior Luke Walton:
"Our whole team came out with a lot of energy. Tonight was the first time we put it all together."

"With the way we played defense, we knew the middle would be the way to attack them. The coaches just did a great job of preparing us for them."

"Some of the managers told me (about the triple-double) in the huddle. I think they told some of the other players because every time I passed the ball they were shooting it."

"To beat a team like that by 15 or 20, you've got to play pretty much a perfect game."

"If we give up a home win to UCLA, it's going to kill our chances to win the conference. So we know what to expect on Saturday. We get prepared the same way each week. This is probably the best we've played for whole 40 minutes. We've played well at times, but not for the whole 40 minutes."

"It was nice to finally get one (triple-double) because I was right there twice before. I hope to get another one before the year is done."

Junior Rick Anderson:
"Our defense was sensational. I'm very happy to see our team glue at the right time."

"That guy (Luke Walton) deserves every ounce of credit for the way he played."
