Throughout the Arizona Wildcat women's golf season, senior Alejandra Llaneza will keep a weekly blog about life and golf in the Pac-10. Check back for more updates from Ale!
Hello Wildcat Fans!
We are still preparing for our next tournament at UCLA. We have been practicing short shots into the greens, picking narrower targets and keeping in mind that course management will be essential. Qualifying has gone well and although it is not done, it is good to see that all of the courses have been pretty close and we have all stayed very competitive. I think that having all of the girls on the team fight for a spot to travel is motivation for us to keep working hard and improving our game.
I also have had the chance to go watch the Accenture Match Play at the Ritz-Carlton and have really enjoyed watching the best players in the world. It is such a great experience to watch and learn the ways in which they practice and prepare for the tournament. Their 'pre-shot' routines and habits are all interesting and I was able to learn new ways to practice. Every time I have had the chance to attend to an event like this, I get a renewed motivation to keep working hard to get to the next level. So if you get the chance to get out there, I suggest that you watch the players practice before their rounds and ALWAYS wear sunscreen (I learned my lesson, haha).
Follow us next week at golfstatresults.com :) Until next time!
