TUCSON - Senior forward Soana Lucet, a member of the University of Arizona Wildcat women's basketball team, was named to the Pacific Life Pac-10 All-Tournament Team, it was announced by the conference office on Saturday.
Lucet paced Arizona to a 2-1 record in the Pac-10 Tournament, a 21-11 overall record and a 10-8 conference record this season. In the opening rounds of tournament play, fourth-seeded Arizona picked up 90-89 win over ninth-seeded Oregon and a 72-61 win over fifth-seeded USC.
Before running into No. 2/2 and top-seeded Stanford in the semifinals of the tournament, the Wildcats had won five-straight games and eight of their last nine contests. Since the Feb. 13 win over Arizona State, the Cats have won eight of their last 10 match-ups.
A native of Noumea, New Caledonia, Lucet averages 12.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in 28.2 minutes per game. In three tournament games, she averaged 20.0 points and 5.7 rebounds in 32.7 minutes per game. She shot 24-of-41 from the field (58.5 percent) and 5-of-7 from three-point range (71.4 percent). She also chipped in with five assists and eight steals in the three games.
Stanford's Nnemkadi Ogwumike was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Also named to the all-tournament team are Doreena Campbell (UCLA), Cassie Harberts (USC), Darxia Morris (UCLA), Chiney Ogwumike (Stanford) and Nnemkadi Ogwumike (Stanford). Stanford, also the regular season champion, won the Pac-10 Tournament with a 64-55 victory over No. 7/9 UCLA on Saturday at the Staples Center.
Arizona will learn its next postseason location on selection Monday, March 14.
