TUCSON, Ariz. ?C After spotting BYU a 1-0 lead, the Arizona menˇ?s tennis team came roaring back to win the match 5-2 today at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.

?

The teams split the first two doubles match with Arizona taking court one but BYU quickly answering by winning court two.

?

On court three Andres Carrasco and Pat Metham were in a battle with Cassidy Mears and Evan Urbina. The match came down to a tie-breaker after the duos were even at 8. Eventually the BYU team defeated the Cats team by a score of 9-8 (6).

?

After being in unfamiliar territory, with losing the doubles point, Arizona came back with a vengeance. In all, the Cats would take five out of the six possible singles matches.

?

Metham was the first Wildcat to win his singles match, toppling Tom Young in straight set; 6-1, 6-1.

?

Peter Zimmer then won on court four; 6-2, 6-3 over Brigham Youngˇ?s Daniel Hwang.

?

Playing on court one for the second day was Jay Goldman, who sealed the match for Arizona after he defeated Jonathan Sanchez; 6-3, 6-2.

?

Rounding things out for Arizona was Carrasco who after losing his first set 6-4, came back and took the match in a super-tiebreaker. Carrascoˇ?s scores were 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 over Brigham Youngˇ?s Thomas Schubert.

?

ˇ?Big props to Andy today,ˇ± said junior Peter Zimmer. ˇ?It is always a lot better to beat an opponent 5-2 when you have the opportunity rather than 4-3.? I liked how Andy never game up even after being down 5-2 in the tiebreaker,ˇ± Zimmer added.

?

With the win Arizona is now off to its best start since the 1999-00 season at 10-2.?

?

ˇ?I really liked how our boys battled today, said head coach Tad Berkowitz. After losing the doubles point, I believe it really speaks to our character how we were able to win five of the next six singles matches.ˇ±

?

Next week the Cats will be back at home as they host their first Pac-10 match of the season against No. 31 Stanford.
