TUCSON-- Jennie Finch earned a victory in relief and provided one of Arizona's runs with her 15th home run of the season to help lead second-ranked UA past No. 16 Oregon State, 2-1, in college softball before a crowd of 2,171 Sunday afternoon.

Finch (26-2) led off the fourth inning with a home run to deep left to give Arizona a 1-0 lead. It was only the second hit off Oregon State pitcher Crystal Draper (12-5) to that point in the game, and Arizona managed only three more the rest of the way.

Draper and UA's Jenny Gladding were both effective through the early part of the game. Gladding allowed only two hits and one runner to reach second base, while Draper had given up only a single and allowed one runner to reach scoring position before Finch's blast.

Oregon State came right back and tied the game with an RBI double by Clare Burnum, who drove in Jenni Jodoin. A walk, error and fielder's choice set up the RBI. The run chased UA starter Gladding, and Finch came on in relief, getting a strikeout and fly ball to end the rally.

Lovie Jung singled with two outs in the bottom of the fifth, stole second and scored on a single by Courtney Fossatti to regain the lead for UA.

Finch struck out four in two and two-thirds innings and allowed one hit. Oregon State fell to 35-18 overall and 6-9 in Pac-10 play. The Wildcats improved to 44-7 and 11-3.
