WALNUT CREEK, Calif. ?- Senior John Collier has been named Pac-10 Men’s Diver of the Month for November, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Thursday, Dec. 15.

Collier, a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, won the one-meter springboard event at the Trojan Diving Invitational, scoring 333.15 points and  finished second in the three-meter with 348.85 points.

In the first Pac-10 competition of the season, Collier won both springboard events to help the Wildcats defeat the No. 10 Trojans. He scored 318.55 points to capture the one-meter victory, before completing his sweep with 373.55 points in the three-meter event.

Collier was named an honorable mention All-American in 2005 for both springboard events. He finished 10th on the one-meter and 11th on the three-meter at last year’s NCAA Championships, after placing fourth on the three-meter board with 525.60 points at the Pac-10 Championships. Collier has twice been named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team, and is an eight-time gold medalist in international tumbling, including the 1997 IndoPacific games in South Africa.

This is the first monthly honor for Collier and Arizona’s first male Diver of the Month all-time.
