April 2, 2004
Walnut Creek, Calif (April 2) - Arizona junior Monica Bisordi was named to the 2004 Pacific-10 All-Conference women's gymnastics team as an all-arounder. The Pac-10 All-Conference team consists of the top six all-around competitors, and the top three competitors in each individual event.
Bisordi, Arizona's lone All-Pac-10 representative, was selected based on a determined score by a combination of 50 percent regional qualifying score (entire season composite) and 50 percent Pac-10 Conference Championships score. So far this season, Bisordi has tallied a team-high 14 individual event titles and 41 top-five finishes. The San Mateo, Calif. native ranks No. 13 in the nation on floor (9.940) and No. 16 in the all-around (39.565). Bisordi has also posted career-highs on vault (9.950), on floor (9.975) and in the all-around 39.750 this season. Her career-best all-around score of 39.750 is the second-best mark in school history.
Bisordi earns All-Pac-10 honors for the second time in her career, as she was an All-Conference selection on beam and in the all-around as a freshman in 2002. Arizona was without All-Conference representation last season.
Arizona will host the 2004 South Central Regional Championships on Saturday, April 3 at 6 p.m. in McKale Center.
