AUSTIN - In day two of the Texas Invite, the Arizona swimming team's continued to turn top performances. At the end of Friday's events, the Arizona women remain in first place with 778 points, while the Arizona men trail Texas 709.5 to 457.5.

 

Junior Ana Agy set a new school record in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 51.45, breaking teammate Hailey DeGolia's record of 51.67 set last season. Agy and Andrea Boritzke both posted NCAA automatic qualifying times in the 100 back; Boritzke with a time of 52.71.

 

Jack Brown won the men's 400 Yard Individual Medley by turning in an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 3:43.67. The time was two hundredths of a second better than his previous personal best.

 

Annie Chandler just missed taking down Amanda Beard's 100 Yard Breaststroke school record, winning the event and posting a time of 59.78, five hundredths of a second off Beard's mark.

 

The Arizona women began the final events by winning the 200 medley relay with a foursome of Hailey DeGolia, Annie Chandler, Lara Jackson and Emma Darlington posting an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:36.02.

 

No Wildcat won the women's 400 Individual Medley, but Arizona did place six of the top eight times with Jenny Forster leading the way with a time of 4:07.20.

 

Other standouts on Friday included Marcus Titus winning the men's 100 Yard Breaststroke (52.97) and Justine Schluntz posting an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:44.00 and finishing runner up in the women's 200 Yard Freestyle.

 

Both Arizona team's will conclude the weekend tomorrow in Austin.
