SAN JOSE, Calif. - California won three of the four events to edge Oklahoma, 194.400 to 194.025 to win the inaugural Silicon Valley Gymnastics Classic, held Friday at Spartan Gym on the San Jose State University campus.

San Jose State finished third with 191.975, while Arizona placed fourth with a 190.775.

The Golden Bears outscored Oklahoma 48.750-48.300 on the balance beam and 48.950-48.750 in floor exercise to propel them to the victory. California also won the vault with a 48.450 score, while Oklahoma captured the uneven bars with a score of 48.550.

Kara Fry of Arizona was the All-Around champion with a score of 38.950. Fry, Leticia Ishii of Oklahoma and Carrie Kreifels of Cal all tied for first in bars with a 9.800. Leah Mueller of Oklahoma won the Vault with a 9.850. Katreece Stone of Cal and Randi Liljenquist of Arizona tied for first on the balance beam with a score of 9.875. Patricia Aoki of Oklahoma and Pari Oliver of Cal both scored a 9.875 to tie for first in floor exercise.
