SEATTLE -- Backed by an 11-hit output and another double-digit strikeout performance by Danielle Lawrie, top-ranked Washington swept the season series with a 9-3 win over Arizona on Sunday.
Arizona (32-7) was last swept in a conference series when Arizona State took all three games in the Sun Devils' national championship year of 2008.
Lawrie struck out 13, but scattered nine Wildcat hits in upping her record to 23-1.
Kenzie Fowler (21-5) took her third loss of the weekend, giving up seven earned runs on nine hits in five-and-a-third. She struck out five, but allowed a career-high four extra-base hits before getting the hook in favor of Sarah Akamine. The senior gave up a run on two hits.
The Huskies put up a four-spot in the third on a RBI fielder's choice, a two-run double, and a run-scoring single.
The score would hold up until the fifth, when Lini Koria blasted her 10th home run of the season to opposite field, putting the Wildcats on the board. After Karissa Buchanan followed up with a single, Brittany Lastrapes knocked her in with a double.
UW (33-3) answered in the bottom half with an RBI double from Shawna Wright that scored Kimi Pohlman and brought the margin to 5-2.
Washington's Jenn Salling hit a two-RBI single that chased Fowler after the Huskies upped the score 7-2, but Akamine also gave up a two-run single to Niki Williams.
The Cats loaded the bases in the seventh and Buchanan scored on a Stacie Chambers single, but Lawrie shut the door by forcing a groundout to close the game.
Arizona returns to Tucson to open home conference play against Stanford on Friday.
