Steinberg, Marks named to Pac-10 Second-Team

Two members of the Wildcats women’s tennis squad were named to the Pac-10 Women’s Tennis All-Conference Second Team, and another was listed on the Honorable Mention list.

Senior Danielle Steinberg was named to the Pac-10 Second-Team along with freshman teammate Natasha Marks. Steinberg finished off her senior season with a 13-7 record in dual match singles, and an 18-12 record overall. Throughout the season, the Tel Aviv, Israel native defeated four ITA-ranked opponents, and is currently ranked No. 72 in the nation.

Steinberg also won the Arthur Ashe Award for Sportsmanship and Leadership in the Southwest Region of the ITA Awards.

Freshman Natasha Marks finished off her impressive freshman season with a run to the final match of the Pac-10 Women’s Tennis Championships. Marks went 12-8 in dual match singles, and 19-10 overall. Marks will be back in action May 20 at the NCAA individual championships.

Marks also won the Rookie of the Year Award for the Southwest Region of the ITA Awards.

Named to Honorable Mention, freshman Sarah Landsman tallied 17 wins and 4 losses in dual singles, and went 26-9 overall in her first season at Arizona.
