On Feb. 23 <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Arizona</st1:State></st1:place> dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 33 Berkeley (6-4). The following day they faced No. 27 Stanford (3-6) at their home in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Palo Alto</st1:place></st1:City>, Calif. The dual was close, with each team winning three singles matches. The Rebels recently ended a three-match losing streak last weekend with a 5-2 victory over UC Irvine.<B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"> </B>UNLV is led by sophomore Elliot Wronski, who was recently included in the ITA&rsquo;s singles rankings at No. 87. Zimmer, a <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Tucson</st1:City></st1:place> native, comprised the team&rsquo;s best record in the fall at 7-3. Against <st1:State w:st="on">Cal</st1:State>, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Arizona</st1:State></st1:place>&rsquo;s only point in the dual came from Zimmer at the No. 4 spot. The Wildcats ended their tournament schedule on a high note as Bruno Alcala and Claudio Christen teamed up to reach the semifinals of the ITA West Regional Championships. The team&rsquo;s only sophomore, <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Tucson</st1:place></st1:City>&rsquo;s own Peter Zimmer, compiled the best record through the fall at 7-3. Christen pulled the biggest upset of the fall, defeating Baylor&rsquo;s Michal Kokta, who was No. 23 in the nation at the time.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial"><o:p><FONT size=2> </FONT></o:p></SPAN></B></P> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT size=2><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial">Pac-10 Elite:</SPAN></B><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial"> Once again the Pac-10 is the premier conference in the nation for men&rsquo;s tennis. In the current rankings perennial powerhouse UCLA ranks the highest among Pac-10 teams at No. 5. <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Washington</st1:State></st1:place> is next at No. 15 with Stanford and Cal-Berkeley not far behind at No. 27 and No. 33, respectively. <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Arizona</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">State</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> is No. 45, slightly ahead of the No. 69 Oregon Ducks.
